Murphy Bed History
The murphy bed was invented by William Laurence Murphy in the late 19th century. He began to entertain the idea of a stowaway bed in his pursuit of a young woman he was interested in. Murphy lived in a one-room apartment in San Francisco. At the time, it was improper for a woman to enter a man’s bedroom, so Murphy devised a way to conceal his bed and used the room as a parlor instead during the day. It was a double win for Williams. Not only did his ground-breaking invention of the murphy bed lead to astronomical success, but he also married the woman who inspired it all in 1900.
Murphy founded the Murphy Bed Company and patented his bed in the early 1900s, but never trademarked the name. His design of a full-size mattress placed in a frame and hidden in a closet was a huge selling point for many apartments during the 1920s. And despite murphy beds being more expensive than standard beds, the idea of a dual-functioning room far outweighed the cost. People loved the bed and its popularity soared.

This mattress features stretch fabric, a 7” medium super grade base, a 2” medium soft pillow, ¼” foam, and a stretch fabric euro top quilted with 15 oz polyester fibers and foam.
Canadian Rock
This mattress has a firmness level of 10/10 and is flippable. Featuring a high-density foam core and stretch fabric quilted with polyester fibers and foam on both sides.
Comfort Dreamer
Features a hard, full mattress with high-density bio foam core and plush 2″ body impression foam with luxurious bamboo fabric quilted with polyester and foam euro top to maximize your comfort level on the firm mattress.
Beauty Sleep
This hypoallergenic mattress has a firm bio foam core base to support your spine as you sleep. The 1″ body impression foam and the 2″ viscoelastic gel memory foam give your body a soft cushion to sleep on and make you feel like you are laying on a cloud.
